ASQ
Welcome to the School Readiness and ASQ Fair happening on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Family Connection Centre from 10 – noon.
Your questions about school readiness and developmental milestones will be answered at our School Readiness and ASQ Fair. Children aged 4 and 5 will have the opportunity to participate in developmentally appropriate activities while parents complete an Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ).
The ASQ is a screening tool that helps to identify children’s strengths and/or areas where they may need additional support. An ASQ provides a quick look at how children are doing in important areas of development such as speech, physical ability, social skills, and problem-solving skills.
Community partners from GRIT, Native Counselling Services of Alberta, Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health, Evergreen Catholic School Division, Parkland School Division, Functional Therapy, Martens Bus Lines, and Alberta Health Services will also be in attendance to provide resources and knowledge.
The pre-school participants will take home a bag of developmentally appropriate activities.
Because this is designed for 4 and 5 year olds, we cannot accommodate older children over the age of 6. Younger children may attend, however, parents are required to actively participate with the their 4 & 5 year old.
Looking to join our Early Education Program as a Play Partner or do you wonder where your child is developmentally? PSD and apfa will be having a fun little event with playful activities set up for your child to try out.
apfa will have Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) – lots of great information and resources to be shared.
This is a free Parkland School Division Family Session. If you have any questions, please contact Early Childhood Services at 780-963-8429.
